6-year-old Sophia Myers from Pennsylvania decided she wanted to give her piggybank with $14.70 and all to her local hospital – Grandview Hospital.
Myers thought it would be really helpful to them. Along with the piggybank and money, she wrote a thank you card to those fighting the pandemic on the frontlines. Myers told ABC 6, “I know a lot of people aren’t giving money so I was like, ‘Ok I can give some money and get this process started so this coronavirus can be done.'”
Grandview Hospital shared Myers’ video on their Facebook page and what started with the young girl’s donation turned into a huge campaign, which has raised more than $60,000 in two weeks.
Grandview Hospital CEO Jean Keeler said to ABC 6, “A couple of us cried to know that a little girl is thinking about us in a difficult time and gave us her bank.”
