TMSG: Husband Waits Outside Hospital With Sign For Wife Going Through Chemo

Kelly Conner was diagnosed with breast cancer in January. Ever since, her husband Albert Conner has not missed any of her doctors’ appointments.

But since hospitals around the country are taking increased precautions due to the coronavirus, Albert was told he couldn’t accompany his wife to her March 30th chemotherapy appointment. The hospital had temporarily barred visitors from going inside.

Albert told Good Morning America, “I didn’t feel right now being a part of it because I had promised her that I would be there every step of the way and I felt like I would be breaking my word.”

Kelly assured her family she would be ok driving to her appointment by herself, but as soon as she left Albert and the couple’s three children took out a poster board and colored it with a sweet message. Then Albert drove to the hospital and texted Kelly to let her know he was parked outside. That’s when she looked out the window surprised to see her husband sitting behind his van with a sign that read, “I can’t be with you but I’m here” along with a “thank you” to the hospital’s staff.

Kelly told GMA, “It immediately brought tears to my eyes and I felt a love for him right then in that moment, that he would do that for me.” A few of the nurses even came outside to thank him for his kind gesture and message.
