Barbara Corcoran Shares The Biggest Deal She’s Made On ‘Shark Tank’

Barbara Corcoran is quarantining with the rest of the country, but that hasn’t stopped her from giving financial advice on her podcast 888-Barbara. She also stopped by The Bobby Bones Show to share some topics she’s been getting a lot of questions on as well as some behind the scenes moments from Shark Tank.

In talking about her time on Shark Tank, Corcoran shared that she’s closest to fellow sharks Damon and Mark in real life. They spend 10 to 12 hours per shoot and then afterwards have a drink together and move on from any disagreements. She also shared some insight into the business proposals that happen on screen. She says those who come on to present to them spend about an hour and a half on set and they have to spend a decent amount of time just standing in front of the sharks before ever talking. From there, the sharks make their bids and then they will spend about 4 to 6 weeks after the show actually looking into the company and proposition before making the deal official. There was one deal in particular that made Corcoran a lot of unexpected money. The product called “The Comfy,” which is an oversized sweatshirt blanket. Since making the deal 2 years ago, she’s made close to $7 million.

Corcoran also offered listeners some financial and business advice. When asked if people should be buying a house right now, she said that this is the time people can be getting a great deal due to all of the uncertainty in the world. So as long as the buyer can be confident and courageous during this time, the deal could pay off really big in the long run. As far as those applying to new jobs, she offered up a few pieces of advice. She said people should dress for the job they want or a little higher, make great eye contact in interviews, and have a firm, intimate handshake. She also noted that in her personal opinion, attitude is more important than experience.
