TMSG: Neighbor Saves Elderly Woman’s Life While Delivering Groceries

Amy McDonald wanted to help her elderly neighbors during this time amid the coronavirus outbreak. She went to four of her neighbors homes to see if they needed anything from the grocery store. She thought it was best to help them because they’re vulnerable right now.

One of those neighbors is 89-year-old Jo Trimble and she lives alone. When McDonald got to Trimble’s home, Trimble was sick and discouraged McDonald from getting anything for her. However, McDonald insisted and said she would put it on the floor when she got back. After going to two grocery stores, she dropped off Trimble’s groceries last.

When McDonald arrived, Trimble was feeling horrible and looked pale with little energy. McDonald still decided to come in and help, she told 13 WTHR, “At this point I thought it was stomach flu. I didn’t care if I got sick if it meant staying with her. I just, I couldn’t leave her.”

Trimble began vomiting and then said her chest hurt, and she was in pain. McDonald encouraged her to lie down. She mumbled to McDonald that she needed help. So McDonald texted her friend who was a retired nurse, and as it turns out Trimble was having a heart attack.

Thankfully, the called 911 and now Trimble is in recovery and alive thanks to her neighbor’s persistency.
