A Look Back At The Bobby Bones Show’s Kenny Rogers Interview In 2013

On March 21st, The Rogers family announced on Kenny Rogers social media channels that Kenny Rogers passed away on the evening of March 20th at 10:25 p.m. at the age of 81. They shared that Rogers passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family.

To pay tribute to the passing of a music legend, The Bobby Bones Show shared their interview with Rogers from back in 2013. During the interview, Rogers talked extensively about his relationship and longtime friendship with Dolly Parton. He shared how they would communicate over ‘fax’ because Parton didn’t like to use phones, and he noted how everyone thought for several years that the two of them were having an affair. He innocently shared, “I’ve always been in love with Dolly.” Rogers said their friendship was unlike any other because they could go years without talking, but then pick right back up where they left off.

Rogers shared other memories with Bobby Bones like his time in the 60s when he was his ‘wildest.’ He even shared his favorite photo of himself was when he was 19-years-old in a bathing suit leaning against a car while drinking a coke.

This interview is a special one to look back on, especially now, and hear Rogers personality shine through. Rest in peace, ‘The Gambler’ Kenny Rogers.
