Gun Shot Wound

On March 6th at around 5:55 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of Racine Street for a report of an individual with a gunshot wound to the leg. On arrival, police made contact with the individual who had been shot. During the investigation, they learned the male suspect had fled toward N. Lacrosse Street. A medical unit arrived and transported the shot individual to the hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. In the meantime, police observed a female subject crawl out of a basement window of the residence with a backpack. She was detained and identified as 22-year-old Shelby Noisyhawk of Rapid City. Dispatch advised Noisyhawk had several warrants for her arrest. She was placed under arrest and a search of the backpack turned up methamphetamine and associated paraphernalia. She was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Ingestion of a Controlled Substance, and her three Warrants. She was transported to the Pennington County Jail. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
