13-year-old Callum Manning has been swamped with support from celebrities and authors after his sister tweeted about his situation.
Manning likes to review books and post about them on Instagram. But he was left devastated after seeing horrible messages from his school friends about his Instagram account. According to his sister, some kids at his new school saw it and created a group chat calling him names and then added him into it so that he could see what they were saying about him. Callum told a news outlet, “I don’t tend to cry that often, but I think that was the first time in a while I’ve actually cried.”
So his sister Ellis posted a screenshot of his Instagram account along with a message detailing what happened. Celebrities, authors and strangers alike responded to her post letting her know they wanted to send him signed books, or any book that he wanted.
Not only that, her post garnered thousands of followers to her brother’s account. He now has 319K followers and continues to review his books with the support of all of them.
