Bobby Bones Hosting New TV Show Called “Opry”

Bobby Bones will be on television screens once again. He will be hosting a TV show called Opry that focuses on the iconic Grand Ole Opry.

The show will be part of Circle, a recently launched country music and lifestyle network. Bones will be hosting Opry as a weekly live-recorded series set to debut on February 26th. Not only will Bones be hosting, but he will also serve as executive producer.

Each 60-minute episode will include performances from the previous week’s Grand Ole Opry shows, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage. Bones told Billboard what his goal for the show is,

“When I bring my friends to the Opry, what they really geek out about is [what’s] on the walls of the Opry, in the [dressing] rooms, and that’s the stuff you can’t see if you are watching from the seats or you can’t hear if you are watching through the app or listening on the radio. So what I want to do is not just do a history lesson, but show them how much cool freakin’ stuff is backstage and talk to people about it.”

This TV show will be the first time the Grand Ole Opry has been on TV in years. The Opry was televised in its entirety for the first time on March 4, 1978 as part of a PBS special. Since then, there have been various shows highlighting The Opry, but the most recent television exposure was Noteworthy at the Opry, which aired on GAC Network in 2013.

For those wanting to watch The Circle Network and Bones TV Show, you don’t need a cable provider as the network is OTA (Over-The-Air). You just need a television capable of surfing the “other” digital channels for your local affiliates, meaning those 6-1 and 6-2 channels that your television picks up on when you program your channels.
