Maren Morris only has four more tour dates left this year, as of right now. Morris said that she will be in Houston for a show on March 7th that’s around her due date of her and Ryan Hurd’s first child together. She confessed that the two of them have been preparing for the chance that she could go into labor while down in Houston.
Although Morris announced that their first baby would be a boy, she said they’re not sharing the names they’ve chosen. They want to keep that special to themselves until he arrives. Also, there’s a chance they may change the name, as she wants to meet him before officially signing the name. She did share that her and Hurd have a doula that will be in the delivery room with them. Morris finds comfort that she will be there to advocate for them and help keep everything calm.
Although Morris is focused on becoming a mom for the first time, she says she’s still been writing songs, just not assigning any deadlines to things right now. Morris confessed that winning Album Of The Year at the CMAs in 2019 made her feel like she had some time before having to immediately put out another album. In the next several months, she also said that she’s unsure what songs will be influencing her life at that point in time after her son is here.
On her current single “The Bones,” Morris said she chose that song to become a single off the record after hearing people freak out at shows over it. She heard the crowd singing it back and always wanting to hear that song, so it felt like the natural next pick.
