TMSG: Shopper Pays For Firefighters Groceries After They Got Call To Leave

The Station 392 crew of Indiana firefighters were grocery shopping at Kroger when they got called away on an emergency dispatch call. The firefighters were forced to leave groceries behind.

When they returned to Kroger after the emergency, they found something really special. The Kroger employees stashed their groceries in coolers and an anonymous customer paid for the firefighters’ shopping.

The department posted on Facebook sharing the heartwarming news,

“While shopping at the Olio Road Kroger this morning, our Station 392 crew caught an emergency run and had to run out of the store while leaving behind their groceries for the day. When they returned to the store, the awesome staff had placed their groceries in the cooler to keep until their return and some anonymous kind person had paid for them. The crew hopes that person sees this post and understands just how much their kindness is appreciated. #loveourcommunity”

The department’s Lt. Duane Reddick shared with WIBC that he and two other firefighters were stocking up on dinner and lunch supplies for them and their families when they left on the call and this was the first time in 20 years that a community member ever paid for his supermarket bill.
