Jo’s Album Review- “9” Jason Aldean

First off, the meaning of the title is awesome. This is Jason’s 9th studio album and he said in an interview that he never imagined getting here and if he did he’d name it “9.” Well played Jason, and what an album it turned out to be. The pool of individuals who helped write these songs are very well known, including some fellow country artist like Brantley Gilbert, Morgan Wallen plus Tyler Hubbard from FGL. And did I mention this album had sixteen tracks?!? Yes, sixteen Jason Aldean songs to blare and memorize. It was awesome to select five over this last week to play during the New At Noon, but it was also challenging to only play five.

This album takes you all over the place, from a tattoo of a lovers name that results in many a shots of tequila, to realizing the love you have is like oil and vinegar but compared to champagne and whiskey..and whiskey is mentioned many a times on this album, as well as drinking which fits perfectly with Jason I think we can all agree on that. “We Back” is a popular song on the radio already giving the energy of a night on the stage but another song that fits that perfectly for the people in the crowd, “The Same Way” relates the fans to one another regardless of where you call home. Jason gives the ladies plenty of love through some of these songs as well, “Cowyboy Killer” paints a picture of a strong chick who can handle her own and can handle a cowboy without being phased at all. “Got What I Got” is a ballad that will remind you of when you know what you have it where you are suppose to be.

This album all around is fantastic. Here are a few of my favorites.

“Champagne Town”

“The Same Way”

Overall, a great album from Jason Aldean. I give it 4/5 Dudes.
