First off, you’re probably wondering what credentials do I have that I should be reviewing an album? Not too many, I’ll be honest. I played the clarinet, saxophone and bass guitar in band growing up, and yes, I’m on the radio and play country music, but I have a genuine love and appreciation for music. So, if you’re curious about my thoughts on Luke’s latest album “What You See Is What You Get” (WYSIWYG) continue reading. If not, at least enjoy the music videos. This album has been highly anticipated for release this year, and it has totally been worth the wait. From his already radio hits “Beer Never Broke My Heart” to “Even Though I’m Leaving” the remaining fifteen tracks are worth the listen. Every song on this album is great, and I’ll be honest there have been some albums out there that yeah, I admit it, I’ll skip a track here and there but this bad boy, I have often found myself replaying songs again and again. Over this last week I was able to play some of my favorite tunes during the New At Noon, but here are some stand out tunes for me:

“Refrigerator Door” – Exactly as it’s titled it’s all about the memories, moments and magnets on the fridge. Who can’t relate to this tune?!?! It truly made me look at all my photos and post its and reflect on those incredible moments in my life. This particular lyric  “A Save the Date, best day of my best buddies life; Anybody else could walk on by, and not blink an eye” resonates with me, because I actually have a birth announcement postcard on my fridge of my nephew still, he’s a year old now. Take a look at this lyric music video of Luke’s fans refrigerators, I love it!

“Lovin On You” – I will one day be dancing in my kitchen with my husband to this song. It’s upbeat, it’s got meaningful and fun lyrics and hits the spot.

“Does To Me” featuring Eric Church- Awesome-sauce! That’s what this tune is. As you listen to the lyrics it describes a person you want in your life, whether it momentos that mean the world or the actions needed by a friend, “Does to Me” will hit ya in the feels. I appreciate Eric’s part in the song and love the fact that its upbeat and gets you thinking and moving.

“Better Together” – The wedding song of 2020! I’m telling ya, if you want a tune that will spark a memory and hit ya in the feels, this is your tune. I just wonder if he’ll perform this at his own wedding? Also, just saying, if this doesn’t make it to radio, in the words of Julie Roberts from “Pretty Woman” Big mistake…HUGE!

Over all, this album is worth every penny you put down, every second it takes to download, or in my case, every step you take walking to the CD area in the store to pick it up. Luke did not disappoint and after snagging a couple CMA’s I’d say we will have plenty of hits coming from him for years to come.

I give this album 5 out 5 Dudes.
