The Bobby Bones Show won The CMA for Broadcast Personality Of The Year for this years 2019 CMA Awards. The broadcast winners were announced before the CMA Awards on November 13th in Nashville, Tennessee. To celebrate their win and the nominees, CMA put on a pre-CMA Awards dinner (October 28). Amy, Lunchbox, Eddie, Morgan2, and Hillary attended the dinner to represent the show and as it turns out the dinner was at a really fancy mansion.
The dinner was really nice compared to other dinners the show is used to and things got a little awkward throughout the night due to some incidents. Upon first arriving, they all noticed medallions were being handed out for nominees, but since the show already won, there weren’t medallions for them. Lunchbox was bummed out by that and he told Dierks Bentley, so Bentley being the kind human he is, put his medallion on Lunchbox to make him feel better. Lunchbox thought that meant Bentley was giving him the medallion to keep so Lunchbox wore it throughout the whole evening and even took it home. As it turns out after talking on The Bobby Bones Show this morning (October 29), Bobby Bones found out via text messages from Bentley that he does indeed want the medallion back because if he doesn’t win a CMA Award, that’s his big win.
On other awkward notes, Morgan2 brought up Eddie’s total “dad moves” during the evening. First, he made friends with the right photographer because when we were all lining up to take a nominee and winner photo, the show got called “Eddie and crew” and no one understood what they were talking about. Then, when they got to their dinner table, Eddie pulled out a dad joke and used it several times to some of the famous people there like Jim Beavers and Lindsay Ell. When all the famous people walked up to the table Eddie would say “Hey, we really need some bread over here” acting like they were the servers and not attendees.
Bobby contends these incidents are the reasons why we don’t get invited nice places because we’re all so awkward. Watch the full stories from everyone below!
