Recently, meteorologists were predicting a hard freeze in southeast Idaho. This freeze rushed farmers in the area to harvest all of their potatoes before the surprise cold snap would run all of their crops.
One farmer in Hamer, Idaho wasn’t able to take in all of his crops in time, so other farmers sent their workers to help him save his crop.
Jason Larson, who works on a nearby farm, was one of them and he sent about 25 employees to help. The convoy of trucks included nine harvesters and he estimated that 50 people in total showed up, including members of the community. Larson shared a video of the convoy of trucks heading to the farm with snow swirling in the air.
Most of those that showed up had been up until midnight the night before clearing their own fields. The group started at 11 a.m. that day and finished the emergency harvest by 8 p.m. that night.
