TMSG: Homeless Woman Goes Viral After Voice Captures Police Attention

One Los Angeles police officer heard the voice of a homeless woman and couldn’t help but capture the moment.

The Los Angeles Police Department shared a video online of a woman as she sang at the train station. The tweet read, “4 million people call LA home. 4 million stories. 4 million voices… sometimes you just have to stop and listen to one, to hear something beautiful.”

The mystery woman turned out to be Emily Zamourka, a Russian Immigrant whose dreams had hit rock bottom in recent times. She fell ill and then found herself out on the streets. She claims to have no formal music training, but she was scraping by playing her violin for people walking by until the instrument was stolen.

That’s when Zamourka turned to her voice to help get some money, and that’s what caught the ears and eyes of a police officer working in the area. Since the LAPD HQ tweet was sent out, the woman has caught the eyes and help of several.

GoFundMe pages have been set up to raise money for Zamourka. As well as violinist Eliza James is trying to find the woman to give her a new instrument.
