Kylie Rae Harris’ Daughter Sings Her Mother’s Song At Memorial Service

It’s been about one week since the 30-year-old rising country singer, Kylie Rae Harrispassed away in a car crash.

At a service celebrating her life, Harris’ six-year-old daughter, Corbie, performed a touching tribute to her mother. According to People, Corbie sang a song off Harris’ final, self-titled EP titled, “Twenty Years From Now” alongside country singer Bonnie Bishop.

The song is an apologetic, yet hopeful track written by Harris to her daughter. She expresses her hope that her daughter would forgive her and that in the future she’d still be around to watch her Corbie grow into adulthood. Now, following the tragic loss of Harris, the song takes on a new meaning for the young girl.

“You deserve nothing less than happiness / And so do I / Twenty years from now / My prayer is that somehow / You’ll forgive all my mistakes and be proud of the choice I made / God I hope I’m still around / Twenty years from now”

Harris had been recovering from a difficult past at the time of the car accident in Taos, New Mexico, which police have confirmed she caused. According to Taos News, investigators with Taos County Sheriff’s Office determined that the 30-year-old singer was driving south on State Road 522 towards Taos, New Mexico in a 2017 black Chevrolet Equinox. Officials said Harris “clipped the back of a black Chevrolet Avalanche sending her vehicle into the northbound lane, causing her to hit the white 2008 Jeep driven by the teenage girl head-on.”

Loved ones of Harris gathered at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas to remember the singer. The eulogy was given by Harris’ stepfather, Brent Cowan. Family friend, Deborah Mash tells E! News, “there was an outpouring of support from Texas musicians who attended in person and sent their condolences.”
