Outlaw Motorcycle Gang gathering in the Black Hills

Local law enforcement is aware of a large gathering of members of the Bandidos motorcycle gang in Rapid City. Law enforcement has already had multiple contacts with their members in the last two days. On August 29th at around 4:10 p.m., law enforcement initiated a traffic stop on a group of Bandidos who were seen speeding and following too close to one another while westbound on Interstate-90. The group was stopped in the area of I-190 and Omaha Street. This contact resulted in an number of citations issued to for the offenses of Following Too Closely, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Concealed Firearm on a Motorcycle (it’s important to note that state law provides exemption to the recent constitutional carry legislations for motorcycles and ATVs).

Throughout the evening, local law enforcement had several other contacts with members of the Banditos: In summary, 30 citations were issued for traffic violations, 8 citations for Possession of a Firearm on a Motorcycle (with eight firearms seized), two citations for possession of Marijuana.

One arrest was made in association with law enforcement contact with Bandidos. 22-year-old Antonio Silva of Los Lunas, NM was arrested during a traffic stop yesterday for Possession of a Controlled Substance (hash oil), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Carrying a Firearm on a Motorcycle, Commission of a Felony with a Firearm, and Following too Closely.

Below, you will find pictures from the traffic stop at I-190 described above, as well as several of the seized firearms.
