Kane Brown Deletes His Twitter Account

Kane Brown‘s Twitter account has been deactivated. No one knows why for sure, however some think it might have something to do with the CMA Award nominations revealed Wednesday (August 28).

Top nominees for the 53rd Annual CMA Awards include Maren Morris bringing in a total of six nominations, followed by Brothers Osborne with four. New artists nominated included Cody JohnsonAshley McBrydeMidlandCarly Pearce, and Morgan Wallen.

Brown, however, did not receive a nomination. Likely out of frustration at the lack of recognition, the “Good As You” singer turned to Twitter sharing a sarcastic GIF. The tweet sparked a ton of controversy which eventually led Brown to delete the original tweet.

Taking it a step further, today (August 29), Brown deleted his Twitter account altogether. Yup, that’s right. The “@kanebrown” account no longer exists on Twitter. Brown has yet to speak out about why the account was deleted, but one could assume he wanted to avoid the backlash sparked from yesterday’s tweet.

The good news for fans though is Brown didn’t totally remove himself from social media. The singer is still present on Instagram, with his most previous post being just one day ago.

Nomination or not and regardless of his reasoning behind deleting his Twitter, Brown has had quite the journey this past year. In November of 2018 he released his No. 1 sophomore album, Experiment. This album brought fan-favorite hits like “Good As You” and “Lose It.”

Additionally, outside of his career, Brown and his wife, Katelyn Jae announced in April that they were expecting a baby girl.
