Kelly Clarkson Had A Cyst On Her Ovary Burst While Filming ‘The Voice’

Kelly Clarkson is opening up for the first time about a terrifying health incident that took place on the set of The Voice earlier this year.

Previously Clarkson revealed that she suffered a burst appendix on May 1 while she was on stage hosting the 2019 Billboard Music Awards. She pushed through the pain during the live show, however immediately after she was sent into emergency surgery. Clarkson healed quickly and was able to get back to filming live shows for The Voice just a week later. However, the singer revealed to People that pain struck again, this time while recording the singing competition.

Blake [Shelton] was talking to me and all the sudden, everything he said just went away and I had to grab his arm and I was like, ‘Something is wrong,’ Clarkson shares.

Once again, she was rushed to the emergency room, where she learned that she had suffered a burst cyst on her ovary. “That was more painful than the appendicitis,” she says, adding, “It was literally a week after my surgery so I was freaking out!”

Clarkson further shares she was “hysterically laughing and crying at one point in the E.R. like ‘What is happening?”

Since then, the country singer’s health has made positive improvements. “I’m great now,” Clarkson assures People. “I’m totally great now.”
