Eric Church Announces Powerful New Single, ‘Monsters’

Following up his most recent No. 1 hit, “Some Of It,” Eric Church has announced today (August 26) that his new single will be the fan-favorite, “Monsters.”

The new track, written by Church himself alongside Jeff Hyde, was initially written after a conversation with his 7-year-old son Boone, who told his dad he needed more light in his room before bedtime.

“That little bit of light is what made the difference, that’s the key,” Church shared. “The overall theme of ‘Monsters’ is that it’s not a big blinding light- it’s this much light that made the difference.” However, the song really hit home with Church back in 2017 after performing at the Route 91 Harvest Festival just two days before a gunman killed 58 country music fans and injured many more.

“Anymore when a restless feelin’ keeps me up at night / Fallin’ on my knees is my new turnin’ on the light / I keep my faith intact and make sure my prayers are said / ‘Cause I’ve learned that the monsters ain’t the ones beneath the bed,” Church sings in the chorus.

You can catch Church singing the chilling new single live this fall during the second leg of his “Double Down Tour.”Check out the full list of dates and more details right here.
