Willie Nelson Cancels August Tour Dates Due To ‘Breathing Problem’

Willie Nelson announced the cancellation of the remainder of his current tour due to breathing issues, but it seems like it’s just a minor setback for the star.

On Wednesday (August 7), the 86-year-old industry vet broke the news to his Twitter following after performing a show in Toledo, Ohio. “I’m sorry to cancel my tour, but I have a breathing problem that I need to have my doctor check out. I’ll be back,” he wrote. Shortly after, his publicist revealed that the country singer will return to the road in September and appear at the Farm Aid concert in East Troy, Wisconsin alongside acts like Neil YoungJohn MellencampDave Matthews and Bonnie Raitt and more.

Nelson has dealt with health issues in recent years. Just last summer, he withdrew from his appearance at the Outlaw Music Festival due to illness and was forced to cancel several tour dates earlier in 2018. Back in 2017, the altitude forced the singer to halt a show. “I am sorry to have to cut the SLC show short tonight,” he wrote on Twitter. “The altitude got to me. I am feeling better now & headed for lower ground.”
