Kacey Musgraves Recruits Audience To Echo Her Reaction To Mass Shootings

Kacey Musgraves‘ Lollapalooza set heard the country titan respond to the two mass shootings that occurred in America over the weekend.

Prior to singing “Rainbow,” the 30-year-old chart-topper spoke about the state of the country and called on the audience to echo her sentiments. “I just wanted to take a second to say thank you, not only for just supporting me and my music but to everybody out here tonight that still has the bravery to show up and come to a large music festival,” she declared on stage. As you know, two separate mass shootings took place over the weekend. While nine people were killed in Dayton, Ohio, at least 20 people were murdered in El Paso, Texas.

“I can’t even believe that we’re having to process the sh*t that’s happening in the last twenty-four hours, much less everything that’s happened in the last two-hundred and f**king fifteen days in America. I don’t know what the answer is but obviously something has to be f**king done,” she said, before asking the audience to echo her last line. “Maybe somebody will hear us if we all yell together to say, ‘Somebody f**king do something.”

“Don’t you hear us, @realDonaldTrump? Don’t you hear our pain? You have the power to become a hero,” Musgraves captioned a clip of the moment on Twitter, adding, “Why don’t you take it?”

In an additional message on the social media platform, Musgraves called out Trump’s lack of leadership, writing, “For a man who clearly loves being well-liked, it’s indescribably mind-numbing to see him blatantly and murderously ignore doing ONE THING that would not only make people happy but would SAVE PEOPLE’S LIVES. True leaders don’t stand back and watch the world burn. @realDonaldTrump.”
