Lamar Neville, 87, thought it would be nice to take his dogs for a walk while his wife, Helen, went to see a movie. She told her husband “wait until I get back because if you fall down there will be no one around to help you.”
Neville didn’t wait and he ended up getting stuck in the mud. He was reaching down to pick up a stick to throw for his dogs when he got caught in a mud puddle. As he tried to climb out he only sunk deeper into the mud. He wasabout knee deep when he realized he wouldn’t free himself on his own.
Neville stood there for an hour yelling with his dogs by his side. The two dogs ended up running down the trail and started barking at cyclists riding by. A few cyclists actually stopped and followed the dogs back to where Neville was stuck. They alerted first responders and helped pull the man out of the mud!
