Eddie & His Wife Are Halfway Out Of Credit Card Debt

Eddie is deep in debt. At the beginning of the year, back in January, he was $20,000 in debt. This is just credit card debt, he isn’t counting car payments or his house. Eddie and his wife decided they would set aside $1,700-$1,800 a month until the end of the year so hopefully by 2020 they are debt free. As of Friday June 28th they are halfway towards their goal! They haven’t had to change their spending habits, Eddie says he just sets aside the money he would normally use to spend on random things each month.

Bobby asked what inspired him to start fixing this. Eddie said he felt like he wasn’t really making money or saving money. He felt like he was always just catching up rather than expanding in his role as a provider for his family. He shared a tip of advice for anyone who is swimming in debt like himself, “you have to make the mental decision to just do it and start saving that money to slowly start paying it off.” Eddie doesn’t believe in cutting out the fun parts of his life in order to manage his debt or save money, but he says all you have to do is manage your money a little better.
