A high-school teacher has been trying to see the Broadway musical “Hamilton” for years now. So his class took it upon themselves to pool their money together and surprise him with tickets. Tom Corby, a history teacher at a New Jersey high-school has entered the “Hamilton” lottery every day for the last four years in hopes to win tickets. His students from his AP U.S. Government and U.S. History classes got together, all chipped in some money, and bought their favorite teacher the tickets he’s been wanting!
The students needed $600 to buy two tickets for Corby and his wife. In a video posted to Twitter, Corby cries while reading the sweet hand-written note from his students telling him how much they appreciate him and wanted to get him these tickets because he deserved them!
Our history teacher Mr. Corby has entered the @HamiltonMusical lottery everyday for the past few years without luck so our class pitched in to get him tickets to see the show. He is super excited!!! @Lin_Manuel pic.twitter.com/LFBnDyZv36
