Weapons Call

On June 8th at around 1:40 a.m., an officer was in his patrol car in the 1900 block of N. Lacrosse Street when he heard multiple gunshots ring out to the south of his location. He began travelling toward the gunfire. In the meantime, dispatch received several reports of gunshots, at least one advising that the shots had been fired in the area of 621 East Boulevard North. Police arrived and made contact with several residents inside. Witnesses told police that they were outside the residence when several unknown subjects approached the house and began yelling at the residents. A short time later, several more unknown subject approached the residence. Witnesses told police that this is when the shots were heard. No one was struck by the gunfire, however, police located bullet impacts on a nearby vehicle. Police searched the area, but did not locate anyone who could be immediately tied to the incident. Police are working with witnesses to better understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police continue to investigate the matter, and a number of extra patrols have taken place in the area since the time of the incident.
