Pursuit

On May 17th at around 1:35 a.m., police observed a vehicle with an inoperable tail light in the area of Milwaukee Street and Monroe Street. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it did not stop. The pursuit circled through much of the city’s north side before the suspect vehicle turned into the parking lot of 120 Surfwood Drive. The vehicle then left the parking lot, drove through a fence, and proceeded on E. Knollwood Drive. The vehicle came to a stop and two occupants were seen fleeing from the vehicle. Police were able to detain both individuals. The driver was identified as 20-year-old Jaden Lebeaux of Porcupine. The second occupant was identified as 36-year-old Eldon Crossdog of Rapid City. A search of the suspect vehicle turned up syringes and a jeweler’s bag with a white crystal substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. A substance testing positive for methamphetamine was also located on Crossdog’s person. He was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Lebeaux was placed under arrest for Aggravated Eluding, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Ingestion of a Controlled Substance, Tail Light Violation, and three local Warrants.
