Bobby Bones has been the full time mentor for American Idol’s latest season. He works with the contestants before they perform as they go through all of the stages of becoming an artist. Ryan Seacrest has been the host of the show for seventeen seasons, but during filming recently he got sick. For the first time ever, he was unable to host. But thankfully, Bones was there mentoring. So Bones got pulled by producers to fill in for the episode featuring all-star duets.
At the beginning of the episode, you see Ryan Seacrest come on screen to address the reason why he’s not there and then throws it to Bones. And naturally, Bones opens up the episode with a joke.
