TMSG: 8-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Collects Toys For Kids With Cancer

Eight year old cancer survivor, David Lauritzen has donated thousands of toys to other children also battling cancer at Texas Children’s West Campus. He told his mom he wanted to make other cancer children smile because he knows what they’re going through.

David and his family are behind the non-profit David’s Toy Project Inc., which buys toys for pediatric cancer patients. It all started when David started collecting coins in a jar; his parents were shocked at how much he was able to collect. David mom says he was able to pull together $1,100 his first year. The toy drive continued to grow and this past year David was able to raise $11,670!
