DUI

On March 15th around 11:45 p.m., police were called to 610 E. North Street for a disturbance. On arrival, police located a Ford Escape SUV that had become stuck in a snowbank within the parking lot of the address. Police made contact with a female who was walking away from the scene who would be later identified as 51-year-old Cindy Ross of Rapid City. As police worked to investigate the matter, Ross was very uncooperative with police. Police noted her slurred speech and the strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. Witnesses advised they had seen the Ford Escape become stuck in the snowbank and identified Ross as the driver. After a DUI investigation, Ross was determined to be too intoxicated to safely operate a motor vehicle. She was placed under arrest for DUI (2nd). A search of her person also turned up keys for the Escape. She was transported to the Pennington County Jail.
