Food World: Avocado Chips Are The New Healthy Fun Food

Avocados are the biggest trend when it comes to food with millennials right now. They help promote weight loss, keep us full longer and they’re healthy fats. You’ll see avocados added in tacos and spread on toast, but you may never have thought of it this way.

AvoLov created a new way to indulge in creamy goodness, Avocado chips. They come in three flavors: Pink Himalayan Salt, Sriracha, and Chili and Lime. They look like dried green triangles and they’re gluten-free and vegan. The chips aren’t fried, which makes it even better. The website reads, “hand pealed and pitted, fresh.” After that handmade piece, the avocados are then dehydrated and they add simple ingredients tapioca flour, sea salt and seasoning.

All the oils you’ll feel in the chips are natural oils from the avocado and not from being fried. Each bag contains between 185 and 190 calories. You can find them at select Whole Foods in the following states: Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey (Marlton and Princeton only), Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Washington DC, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. You can also purchase them online via the AvoLov site for $5 a bag.
