Thomas Rhett Debuts New Song ‘Don’t Threaten Me With a Good Time’ On ‘SNL’

Thomas Rhett treated Saturday Night Live viewers to a brand-new song.

The country star premiered a never-before-heard record titled “Don’t Threaten Me With a Good Time” during his guest spot on SNL on Saturday (March 2). Rhett performed the soulful, upbeat track for the first time during the latter of two sets, which featured an entire horn ensemble and a pair of backing vocalists, with whom the musician engaged throughout the presentation.

The new tune originally features vocals from Little Big Town and features on Rhett’s upcoming album, Center Point Road, due out on May 31.

“I got a hankerin’ for doin’ somethin’ crazy/ Don’t have to tell me, girl, yeah, I know that it’s Wednesday,” the crooner sings over the sexy, R&B-infused groove, “But you’re lookin’ so good, it feels like Friday night, huh/ That ripped up t-shirt makes me want you in the worst way.”

Steamier lyrics appear when the chorus unfolds, as Rhett tells his love interest to, “Hop on up on that counter/ Let me see how you move/ Let me up there beside ya/ Stand back, watch me cut loose.”

This is the second offering the artist has released from his new project after unveiling “Look What God Gave Her”the day before his SNL gig, which he also played during his guest spot.

Rhett will likely support his forthcoming LP on his “Very Hot Summer Tour,” which kicks off on May 17, and will see the vocalist play 39 shows across North America with special guests Dustin Lynch, singer-songwriter Russel Dickerson and his father, country musician Rhett Akins. (Get the dates here.
