On March 3rd at around 11:05 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Mount Rushmore Road for a report of a passenger vehicle that had crashed into a retaining wall outside of a residence. On arrival, police located the vehicle which had become high centered on a snowbank. Police made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as 34-year-old Alonna Engebretson of Rapid City. Police noted her incoherent speech and unsteady balance. Following a DUI investigation, it was determined that Engebretson was too impaired to safely operate a motor vehicle. She was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the Pennington County Jail.
