TMSG: Couple Pays For 45 Hotel Rooms For Homeless Stuck In Cold

After temperatures began to drop an Oregon couple opened their wallets to house the homeless.

With unusually low temperatures, homeless are facing dire conditions on the streets over night. Amberly Batten told KOCO News 5,”I had seen some posts about some people who were homeless that were contemplating suicide because they were cold and didn’t have anywhere to go and that hit something in my core…I had to do something.”

The Battens decided to pay for 45 hotel rooms at an America’s Best Value Inn in Medford, Oregon.

Osiris Lewis one of the homeless housed for the night and he found it extra special to get to stay the night in a hotel room because he usually sleeps in a vehicle with his dad.

“The reason why is because it’s my birthday tomorrow and I’d like to not spend my birthday in a vehicle…,” he said. “I’d like to be in a room.”
