Dan + Shay are currently on the road selling out shows to crowds full of people singing back their songs while watching not one, but two of their songs kill it on the country charts. The duo stopped by The Bobby Bones Show to update on life, babies and what’s coming next.
They first dished on their next single being “All To Myself” from their latest self-titled album, a follow up to two monster hits of “Tequila” and “Speechless.” The song “Speechless” is one about their wives and each of their respective wedding days. Dan + Shay went on to share that the wife dynamic is amazing, both of their wives like to hang out and love each other.
Before Dan + Shay was on their own headling tour bringing out Kelsea Ballerini, Cam, and Canaan Smith as opening acts, they were opening acts themselves for the likes of Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, and Hunter Hayes. Rucker was the one to give them a big gift for opening – Rolex watches. And the duo they once bought Shelton a nice suitcase because all he would bring on the tour was an old duffel bag. Now the award-nominated duo is headed out on the Can’t Say I Ain’t Country tour with Florida Georgia Line.
One of the biggest things about Dan + Shay is that their music speaks all kinds of love on every level. Because of that, they said that fans often send invitations to them for their weddings, and propose at their shows. As far as playing at a wedding goes, it’s happened one time and it was a total surprise.
As far as real life goes, Shay’s son Asher just turned two-years-old. Dan and his wife are busying taking care of adoptable dogs that need homes. The two have different personalities though; when it comes to making lists, Dan is all about handwritten to-do lists and Shay doesn’t like them, he says “ignorance is bliss.”
