Luke Combs Previews Unfinished Song Titled ‘Dear Today’

Luke Combs is reminding everyone to live in the moment in a new song he says is a work-in-progress. The CMA New Artist of the Year debuted “Dear Today” during an acoustic set at a recent show in Wichita, Kansas.

“New song. It’s not done yet but love y’all to hear the progress,” Luke captioned a video of the performance on Twitter. The track is written as a letter to “today” and signed “tomorrow,” suggesting the narrator should stop taking time for granted. “Maybe you should call our mama, have a drink with our old man, quite wasting our sweet time and put that diamond on her hand. Stop taking me for granted, like I’ll always be around. Because even as you read this, boy, that clock is ticking down,” Luke sings in the song’s chorus. The song will presumably appear on Luke’s sophomore album, which he has previously promised will drop in 2019.

He kicks off his Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour in January.
