What 25 Yr Olds Care About: First Look At Disney’s Live Action Lion King

The first look at the live-action/CGI remake of “The Lion King” is finally here. And we are freaking out. Disney released the teaser trailer as part of the Thanksgiving football festivities. The new remake is set to hit theaters on July 19, 2019.

The movie comes from the studio which found success with “Beauty and the Beast” last year and will also release new versions of “Dumbo,” “Aladdin,” “Lady and the Tramp,” and “Mulan” in the coming years.

This remake features a star-studded cast that includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodard as Simba’s mother Sarabi, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kani as Rafiki, Florence Kasumba as Shenzi, Eric André as Azizi, and Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa.

While some people are hitting the Internet with some anger over the idea of “live action,” to us the trailer still looks incredible. In a video posted to social media, the new trailer is put up against the original 1994 “The Lion King” and honestly, it’s the perfect remake if it follows in the trailer’s footsteps.
