TMSG: Kindergartners Sign ‘Happy Birthday’ Song to Deaf Custodian

Mr. James is a custodian at Hickerson Elementary School in Tullahoma, Tennessee. The custodian is also deaf and just celebrated a birthday.

The kindergarten classes at the school lead by teachers Ms. Alyssa, Ms. Amy, and Nurse Angela wanted to help give a special gift to Mr. James. They learned sign language and surprised him when he walked into the room by signing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song. Hickerson Principal Jimmy Anderson told Fox 17 News that the kids really love Mr. James,

“Mr. James teaches the kids’ sign language every now and then, teaches them good manners and how to treat other people.”

The video shows that the kids really gave Mr. James a special kind of joy for his birthday.
