National Cat Day, a tribute to all my cats

Growing up, my family has always had cats. From Sebastain, to Oliver to Addie there are too many to name but all that I remember. I’ve always been a huge fan of cats, as you have all probable caught on after listening to me the last 3 years. 🙂 Like I say, I’m a “Potential Crazy Cat Lady” and proud of it. Since moving out on my own I have had quite a few cats, or as I say, my four legged kids and even though some of them are no longer with me I will never forget them.

“Bugsy”

This handsome gentleman was my first cat, and what an awesome cat he was. He was pretty large too, around 25lbs. He was spoiled and loved unconditionally, sadly he was only with my husband and I for 8 years due to cancer but 8 years that I wouldn’t trade for the world. He was also the cat that made my “dog loving” husband appreciate cats. Ol’ Bugs, such a stud.

“Zinny”

This young lady came into my life shortly after Bugsy passed away. She was really unique from the get go being a female orange tabby. 80% of orange tabbies will most likely be male, leaving 20% for the ladies. I rescued her from the Humane Society in Omaha and of course fell in love quickly but it was a short 5 years with this young lady. She ended loosing her sight, having glaucoma and optic neuritis, plus had multiple other health issues which I treated and did my best to keep her comfortable but over time, her short life came to an end. Zinny was a sweetheart and another love in my life that I will never forget.

“Stewie”

Everyone knows Stewie, I mean I basically talk about this handsome guy every week on KICK 104 and he has been with me going on 14 years. He came to the Vet Clinic I worked at in Omaha, NE and from first sight, I knew he had to be mine. He’s been here through all of the four legged kids too and he rules the roost, or at least he tries even with Dude being twice his size. He was also mine before marriage, after several moves even to different states and regardless of where we end up, he always is a lover and such a great cat. I’ve been so lucky to have him in my life and he totally loves me more than my husband, but don’t tell my husband that. 🙂

“Dude”

The “Dude.” Yes, this guy we got from the Humane Society of the Black Hills and what an addition he has been to the family. It’s been a little over 2 years with him and the entertainment never ends, from his flops to his style of sitting to his personality all around, this guy has been a joy to have in the family and am looking forward to so many more years with him.

What can I say, I love cats and you bet I’m going to take advantage of National Cat Day to talk about them and show them off. 🙂 Here are some pics of Stewie with all the cats I’ve had in my life so far, Stewie hasn’t aged a day. I’ve loved them all and will always be a “Cat Lady” so Happy National Cat Day!
