In our latest installment of the video series, the budding country singer explained what it means to be on the “Stray Off Course Tour.”

“Now that it’s our time and our stage and it’s our hour, half and a half, we get to do it our way, stretch out and have some fun and really dig into what this album is live and play every single song from this album, Dark Horse,” he explained. “The things that are hard are also the things that I love about touring: being in a new city every night [and] meeting new people every night. I get to be out there living my dream and singing these songs that I wrote.”

Dawson also explained that the beauty of this album harks back to its collaborators. “The guys on this album that play with me live are also in the studio with me. When we play these songs live, it’s kind of an extension of what you hear on the record. It’s the same energy, but we like to take it to another level,” he explained. “Every night can be different depending on what feels right on that stage with those people and that audience and what we’re feeling that day.”

During the show, the singer plays all 12 of the cut from his debut LP, which dropped at the top of the year in January. “We try to take you on this rollercoaster. We’re not afraid to play a heartbreak song right after something that just had a lot of energy. You can expect every song on the album to be taken to the next level.” Scroll on below for a list of remaining show dates.
