Over the summer, Walker Hayes paid tribute to the country greats of decades past with his single “90’s Country” and on Friday (October 5), Lauren Alaina dropped a tribute to the same decade, praising all the strong female voices that molded her sound, in “Ladies In The ’90s.”
Like Hayes’ anthemic track, the rising star makes plenty of country references, praising the likes of Deana Carter, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Reba McEntire, and the Dixie Chicks; however, she also gives props to the woman pop stars of the era as well. The song gives nods to Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, TLC, Destiny’s Child, Madonna, Spice Girls, and Alanis Morissette.
