Tim McGraw Wipes Social Media Clean, Posts Cryptic Tweet

Has Tim McGraw been hacked? That’s the questions with which fans were left in the early morning hours Friday (9/28) as the country megastar cleared each of his social media platforms and posted one mysterious tweet.

“I need Jesus or I need whiskey,” read the message posted at 2:36 a.m. While some left words of encouragement (“…take time to chill out” and “Hope all is ok Tim”), others speculated the post could mean new music is on its way from the “Humble and Kind” singer. “Calm down everyone…probably just a new song lyric…bring it on @TheTimMcGraw!!” wrote @genhem.

While Tim has yet to confirm whether new music is on the way, going dark on social media has become a popular method for artists to alert fans that’s something new is on the horizon. Taylor Swift most famously deleted her entire social media history just before the announcement of her latest album reputation.

If Tim does drop new music, it will be his first solo release since 2015’s Damn Country Music. He and wife Faith Hill released their first-ever joint album, The Rest of Our Life, in 2017. They recently wrapped their Soul2Soul World Tour, which began in 2017 and extended into 2018.
