Brad Paisley Went to the E.R. After a Concert

From a rowdy country music concert… to the emergency room. In a new digital exclusive with The Tonight ShowBrad Paisley recalls the nasty fall he took at a tour stop in Charleston and the subsequent trip to the E.R.

“There I am on the stage, I’m kind of running across the stage, and we have these ramps on each side. I was sprinting to wave to one side,” he says of performing his show-ending “Alcohol.” “I had just handed my hat to a little kid in the front row. I’m waving over here and then I take off running to go over to the other side and I’m coming down that ramp. I’m running like I am in the Olympics. My boot catches something on the carpet and I go down. I mean, when I go down, I’m airborne.” Brad landed on his hip and remembers thinking “I have broken my hip on the last song of this tour.”

The “Last Time for Everything” singer made his way off the stage and into the emergency room, where he was diagnosed with a bruised hip. “I was tweeting from the emergency room, ‘alright, who’s got the video? I want to see it, put it up,’” Brad recalls. “And a guy was really cool about it. He wrote me and said ‘I have the video. If it’s cool, I’ll put it up, but I won’t put it up if you’re embarrassed.’ And I said ‘Oh I’m embarrassed, put it up.’ And he actually put that up. Within minutes, it was online and I was able to see it in all of its glory.”
