Ole Miss punter Mac Brown wanted to help out one of his friend’s fathers who had been diagnosed with ALS. When he was in 7th grade, he started the stand and his goal was to raise $500. Now, several years later, the fundraiser has grown into the annual Awesome Lemonade Stands for HOPE and has raised nearly $50,000 for ALS research.
There is a lemonade stand on a corner in Eden Prairie. Minnesota and an online fundraiser. He told a website,“Originally it was just me and my buddies doing a lemonade stand. Now it’s communities coming together from all over. It’s awesome.”
