If You Get Goosebumps While Listening to Music, It’s a Good Sign

If you’re the kind of person who loves to listen to music so much that songs actually give you goosebumps… then it’s a good thing.

new study out of Harvard states that if music has ever given you goosebumps and/or made the hairs on your arm stand up, that’s actually a sign you’re thriving. Researchers say that about 55% of people that had a strong emotional connection to music were more likely to be healthier, happier, friendlier and even wealthier.

They found that women are more likely to get goosebumps than men. For most people, goosebumps happen quickly, like during the first minute of a song. They also found that music is not the only thing that gives some people goosebumps. Other things include:

  • 25% when someone said “I love you” for the first time
  • 23% when their child was born
  • 16% when their partner was walking down the aisle at their wedding
