Sugarland Was Happy To Miss A Certain Era Of Country Music

When Sugarland decided to take a break from making music together back in 2012, they didn’t know where country music was headed, but Kristian says with a sly smile, “You know we skipped a whole big section of country music, and just landed back on this side.”

That section of country music they were grateful to skip, was the period saturated with songs about pick-up trucks, girls in short shorts and driving down back roads, otherwise known as “bro country.”  As evidenced by their latest album, Bigger, bro country is not something Sugarland has ever done, so the fact that they were able to miss out on that period of music, Kristian says, “Never doubt the timing of the universe is all I’ve got to say. Never doubt it because it feels maybe like you’re upset with the world for not giving you what you think you want at the time you think you want it, but trust me, people. You are in the right place at the right time…every time.”

Sugarland definitely finds themselves in the right place with their latest single, “Babe,” which is approaching the top 15 on the charts, as they just wrapped up their first tour back together.
