Kenny Chesney Reflects on Trip Around the Sun Tour

Kenny Chesney took one last Trip Around the Sun this weekend in Boston. The country superstar performed for a total of 121,414 people over two back-to-back nights Friday and Saturday (August 24 and August 25) at Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium, the birthplace of Kenny’s beloved No Shoes Nation.

The shows marked the “Better Boat” singer’s 18th and 19th shows at the home of the New England Patriots, bringing his career total number of tickets sold in Boston to 1,090,326. “The spirit of the people of Boston have been part of this journey since the first year we started playing stadiums. They love life, they work hard, they believe in music – and they understand how much I see their lives in my own life,” Kenny says.

“I’d’ve never believed when I was young that I would play, let alone sell out the stadium where the Patriots play. But when I hear those voices as I hit that stage, I’m sure glad unthinkable dreams come true.” Kenny notched another platinum summer overall, performing for approximately 1.3 million across 19 stadiums and 41 total shows.

The Trip Around the Sun Tour is the only country tour to have made Pollstar’s Mid-Year Top 10 Tours.
