Eric Church Teases New Song “Hippie Radio”

Eric Church is giving his Church Choir another taste of Desperate Man in the form of “Hippie Radio.” On Friday (August 24), the country star took to Instagram to share a snippet of the new song.

Led by piano and a twangy acoustic guitar, The Chief sings about his memories of driving with his dad in his old Pontiac. “‘Carry on My Wayward Son’ on a hippie radio / Songs about the flower babies and the birth of rock and roll / And I was the band and I would stand and we’d bounce down the road / A boy and his dad in a Pontiac with that hippie radio,” Church sings fondly in the chorus.

Always loyal to his fanbase, the country crooner offered his Church Choir an exclusive listen to the song before sharing the snippet with the world. “Hippie Radio” is the fifth song Church has released off his upcoming album, Desperate Man. Since announcing the record and its first single (the title track) last month, Church has revealed “Heart Like a Wheel” in its entirety and teased “Some of It” and “Hangin’ Around.”

Desperate Man sees Church collaborating with producer Jay Joyce again and is slated for an October 5 release.
