Sam Hunt Looked Completely Unrecognizable at the ACM Honors: See the Pic

Sam Hunt took home the Gene Weed Milestone Award at the 12th annual ACM Honors in Nashville on Wednesday night (August 22). At least, he claimed to be Sam Hunt — though this guy looked nothing like the “Body Like a Back Road” singer.

Posing for pictures backstage with Bobby BonesKassi Ashton and Academy of Country Music CEO Pete Fisher, the country star sported a more aerodynamic look — shaving all the hair off his head and face (okay, he kept his eyebrows). It’s hard to recognize the Georgia native without his bushy beard and brown locks!

Take a peek at his new look below.

Could the slick new look have something to do with new music? Back in May, Hunt released two singles (his first in more than a year): “Downtown’s Dead” and “Nothing Lasts Forever.” The tracks represent “another step in the direction towards what will become something new…in terms of a record,” the 33-year-old said in a recent interview.

The R&B-tinged country crooner has admitted he’d like to write music that’s more tapped into traditional country in the future, so perhaps we’ll be getting a new sound along with the new ‘do? We’ll just have to wait and see.
