Dierks Bentley to Perform ‘The Mountain’ Music Live at Album Release Party

Dierks Bentley is finally sharing his new album, The Mountain, on June 9th via Capitol Records Nashville, and will celebrate with an exclusive show for an intimate group of fans in New York City during his iHeartCountry Album Release Party, hosted by Bobby Bones.

The Mountain is Bentley’s ninth full-length studio album, and was written and recorded in Telluride, Colorado. During the process, Dierks brought along fellow songwriters Natalie Hemby, Luke Dick, Ross Copperman, Jon Randall, Jon Nite and Ashley Gorley to help co-write the record. During a fan Q&A back in January, Bentley explained that many of the songs he wrote or co-wrote himself, more than any other album over the last decade, and the songs were written within a five day period, later returning to Colorado to record them. He said, “The whole process has just been totally different from anything that I’ve done before and a really, very awakening experience.”

Dierks added that the inspiration for The Mountain came when he was playing the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Telluride, Colorado (a small town in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains). He explained:

“I feel like very album has been some snapshot from where I am. I always try to make something that’s different from the album before. Like, Riser, the theme there was my dad passing away and my son Knox being born. Black had a lot to do with my wife Cassidy Black and we crossed our ten year marriage point at that time. This album, I was just looking for something different. I didn’t know what it was going to be. It wasn’t calculated, I was just looking for something different, open for whatever it was gonna be. And this summer, a lot of time out west, a lot of time working on the movie Only The Brave which really focuses on firefighters out west. I was really just out west a lot, my neck of the woods, and being at the bluegrass festival in Telluride really just gave me the very, very small, small seed of an idea for what the album could be.”
